I like Taylor Momsen. Oh, what the hell, I love her. She's damn fabulous and can sing, what's not to love?

I just realized I haven't actually been very straightforward about my new-found love for everything floor-length. I found this gorgeous maxi skirt while browsing a Cosmo and instantly knew I had to have one of my own. I applaud Peter Som!
On another note, today was and still is probably the perfect lazy Sunday. No school, nothing extremely urgent to do and almost a ton of cake left from my dad and brother's b-day yesterday. Ahh, it truly is the simple things that make life wonderful. Also I can't forget to mention Sex and the City. I think I'm already addicted.
And you know what? It feels so good to be back on the blog.

In the midst of all this craziness and watching Spiderman right now, I just have a video to share with all of you. I'm sorry I've neglected this blog so much!

Thursday, May 10, 2012

Hello, world. Yes, I confess, I am guilty of neglecting my blog. So much has happened the past month or so. Believe it or not, but summer is almost here! I also have a lot of great news:
  • We got a dog. He's awesome. And too cute.
  • I was the host of two German dudes for 5 days as part of a theater project.
And then the not so good stuff
  • I have a terrible case of exhaustion. I cannot stay awake during the day like a normal person and in the morning I always feel like a zombie.
  • I have a ton of parties to attend, respects to pay and try to keep up with school work all at the same time. Horrific.
  • Drama.
  • I screwed up my cameras memory card. I'm sad.
  • My dip dye is awfully faded and guess what. I couldn't care less.
Nevertheless, I try to do my best and stay positive. There's nothing better than a smile. And I love the sun!

P.S. Isn't it awesome that Obama now backs same sex marriage? Hell yeah :)

Have you seen these fabulous ideas for upcycling almost any necktie? If you haven't you've been missing out on a lot of crazy patterned stuff. Just saying.

Now that you have had the pleasure of browsing through the first amazing pictures of my trip to France, I think since I am so tired and for a week I'll be consumed by school work, I should show you all a treat. Due to the fact that I can't wear skirts, namely because all of my skirts are high-wasted, I have the utter right to drool over these two gorgeous floral very spring-ish skirts. Fabulous.

Goodbye, pants!

This is just a short post about something I try hard to achieve each day - how to make an outfit look good with pants. I am hopeless. Seriously. Sometimes I feel so boring when wearing jeans, like they're the most typical sweats. I guess I should get my hands on a gorgeous suit like in the last picture. I am so happy that it's finally getting just a little bit warmer here, at least warm enough to whisk out my endless supply of skirts and dresses from the deep pits of my closet. Hooray for spring!

Maybe the only reason why life is so hard is because I just like to do a stupid thing like thinking too much. All I know is the desert is like a escape from reality to me. It clears my mind, once you look in the right places, it too magnificent to be true. One of my dream destinations is Morocco. Since I finish high school a year younger than all my other classmates, I think it would be a great idea to spend at least 6 months in Africa. I'm not very sure where to go exactly, what I'm going to do there and how I'll ever leave, but it's one of decisions that I've made that I've promised not to think about anymore, not at least until the time comes to  actually go there. So until then I will just look at pictures of deserts.

Oh, and happy April Fools Day!

Before France

What better way to begin the avalanche of pictures of France than by presenting this dress. True, quite boring at first sight, but as you may know, I am a huge fan of clothing that looks even better from behind.

The almost one hundred

Right now is the perfect time for a little bit of basic black and white before spring.

Like a love song

I haven't introduced any pop culture divas to you lately, so I thought the perfect new beginning would be Ms. Selena Gomez. This Disney star is an actress, singer and from the looks of her video for her song "Love You Like a Love Song" she can pull off nearly any look. That's the problem people with overly pretty people - they are just too gorgeous!

Always leave the best for last!

March music

I'm sorry for the lack of something beautiful to the eyes lately and today I'm actually going to tease you and your imagination a bit. Here is what I'm listening to at the moment. They make me feel so good inside.

I love photography

Right now the sun is blazing and yet the thermometer outside the window is making me feel so lucky to have this warmth. Today our teachers are on strike and me and my friends went to the art academy downtown. My favorite part was the photography department where we got to visit this huge studio that you could fit a boat into...It just reminded me of how much I actually miss taking pictures with a decent camera. Luckily since I'm going to France next Friday (!!!!!) I'm also getting a new camera on Monday. I cannot wait.

(Just me in less than a week, taking photos like a crazy person)

The iron lady

Today in English class we watched the movie The Iron Lady. I have never been very interested in the history of Britain during the last couple of decades and to be honest, I never had any idea what kind of a woman Margaret Thatcher really was. The film totally changed my mind. I knew from the start it was going to be a great hour and 40 minutes. I instantly loved the classy and elegant look she sports throughout the entire movie. Even more important than that, I adore her views considering balancing her family and career and even more just her willingness and courage to take action in a world ruled by men. If before I wasn't totally convinced that Meryl Streep won that Oscar fair and square, I definitely am now.

Happy 29th of February!

Just my teensy guilty pleasures. M. van der Horst is the closest thing to perfection. I love the others, too, but those pastels are impossible not to covet!
